The Tote Bags collection at Baghpat House gathers our hand-woven carryalls in raffia, jute, and rattan cane — each one made for the way a tote actually gets used. They go to the market and the beach, hold a laptop on the train, sit on a hotel chair through summer, and come home full. Each tote is named for a European or Mediterranean town — Abrucena, Alberobello, Alcoy, Alghero, Plasencia, Pulpi — a quiet nod to the wholesale buyers and retail patrons these objects are made for.
