The Bogra Jute Accessory is handcrafted in India from 100% natural jute, a fibre with deep roots in the eastern subcontinent. Bogra is a town of the Bengal jute belt, a region where the fibre has been grown, retted and woven for generations. Baghpat House names this piece for that provenance.
Each accessory is finished by a single artisan. The weave carries the irregular tension and soft lustre of hand-spun yarn; minor variation in colour and texture is intrinsic to the material and confirms the piece is not machine-made.
Jute takes dye unevenly in the best sense — tones settle deeper where the fibre is denser — giving the surface quiet movement. The piece is intended for dry, low-abrasion use and will soften and deepen in tone with handling.
