The Malmö Bamboo Lamp is handcrafted in India from split bamboo and natural fibre. Baghpat House names this piece for Malmö, the southern Swedish city whose Scandinavian design sensibility shapes much of the region's lighting.
Each lamp is cut, shaped and lashed by a single artisan. The bamboo is seasoned before working, and the grain, tone and surface variation carry the small marks of hand finishing. No two lamps are identical.
Bamboo softens and deepens with age; the warmth of the light source reads through the split-cane shade, casting pattern and shadow into the room.
